Oodnadatta Track Re-Sheeting Project

Scope of Works

Dunn's Earthmoving successfully completed the re-sheeting of the Oodnadatta Track with the following key activities:

1. Material Sourcing, Haulage, and Placement
   The project involved sourcing materials from two borrow pits located within the project area. The material was loaded, hauled, placed, and then subjected to wet mixing, shaping, and compaction to meet the required Unsealed Roads Primary Road classification cross-section profile.
2. Construction of a New Alignment
   A new road alignment was constructed alongside the existing Oodnadatta Track, avoiding an area of cultural heritage significance. This was done to preserve the cultural integrity of the indigenous heritage site while ensuring a safe and durable road.
3. Use of Advanced GPS Technology
   To enhance operational efficiency and ensure precision throughout the project, Dunn's Earthmoving utilized the latest GPS technology. This cutting-edge system allowed for accurate material placement, optimal grading, and better alignment control, resulting in a higher-quality finish and reduced rework.
4. Ongoing Maintenance of Completed Works
   Throughout the entire construction period, Dunn’s Earthmoving maintained the newly completed sections of the track to ensure optimal performance and safety, addressing any wear and tear or issues as they arose.
5. Maintenance of Existing Oodnadatta Track Sections
   Maintenance work was also carried out on sections of the Oodnadatta Track, ensuring these areas remained safe and functional during the project.
6. Water Supply for Construction and Dust Control
   Suitable pumping equipment was supplied to pump water from existing bores to the turkeys' nests, which were used for dust control and other construction needs during the project
